What are ATM classes?

The Feldenkrais Method® Awareness Through Movement® (ATM) classes are a series of gentle, verbally guided movement sequences that are intended to improve posture, flexibility, coordination and even attention.

The technique was developed by Moshe Feldenkrais (1904-1984). Feldenkrais, a physicist and engineer, developed these healing movements while studying and teaching Judo, and while in recovery from his own injuries. In his later years, he devoted his life to helping others discover their innate potential for self-healing.

These movements he developed, promote healing in people with chronic pain by replacing stressful physical patterns, with healthier movement habits. Healthy athletes, musicians, singers and dancers find that this method refines their performance skills and improves their poise and confidence. The Feldenkrais Method has also been proven to help people with neurological problems improve their learning abilities.
