Singing With Your Whole Self

“When you know what you’re doing, you can do what you want,” – Moshe Feldenkrais *

Starting in Christchurch this July “Singing with Your Whole Self” is offered in collaboration with the Muse Community Trust. If you’d love more from your voice, this weekly series is designed to build your vocal confidence, health, and renewed pleasure in singing.

This course is for you if whether you’re actively singing currently, or wanting to prepare to sing in any genre of music. Whether you like singing on your own or with a band, choir or other group – you are welcome!

In a supportive group atmosphere, we’ll sing together. Then we’ll move togethe with sounding and awareness cues. We’ll finish up the session with more singing, to notice what makes the difference.

Along the way you’ll discover how you can . . . .

  • sustain breath more effectively, replenish easily
  • avoid vocal fatigues with movement strategies for clearer tone
  • use effective and efficient warm ups for YOUR vocal ne
  • improve your audibility at any volume
  • transition more easily between lower and higher ranges

Join our supportive group sessions to discover how your voice can be more resilient,
expressive, and truly your own.

Led by Valerie Wycoff, a voice and movement educator with over 30 years of experience in
working with voices of all kinds. She brings a compassionate, body-aware approach to
learning. Valerie is also a Feldenkrais Method® practitioner, and uses this in these classes to help you sense what you’re doing, and to do what’s effective more reliably.
