Susie writes:

For the past three decades, I’ve been on a profound journey of nurturing not only my body but also my mind and soul. It’s a path that led me away from the reckless choices of my youth—choices that revolved around self-medication, wild escapades involving sex, drugs, and fast motorcycles. Today, my soul finds solace in the simple pleasures of connecting with cherished individuals, ideally amidst the tranquility of nature, and in the act of preparing and sharing nourishing meals.

As a facilitator, there’s nothing that stirs my spirit quite like guiding others in the art of awakening wellness. This is what ignites my passion each morning, propelling me out of bed with enthusiasm. I believe in approaching life’s challenges with a sense of reverence and tenderness, refusing to rush past hurts and pain as our fast-paced culture often nudges us to do.

Valerie, a cherished companion on this journey, is an integral part of our Wise Communication Village Building Crew. Over the years, we’ve cultivated a remarkable ability to honour and support each other, and it’s our shared dream to extend this profound sense of contentment to you, our cherished community.

Together, let us embark on a journey to awaken a previously uncharted realm of contentment.

Valerie writes:

My hope for each of you joining is that you’ll embrace out time together and the intervening weeks as an opportunity to be in tune with, and to love yourself more fully.

After personally journeying from crazy to well a number of times in my life, my belief is that each of us can find our way “home” to thriving.  Some of my deepest learnings about how to thrive have come from sharing and listening to others who share the desire to be more consistently well in physical, mental, emotional, and relational ways.  As well as facilitating this course, I’m looking forward to strengthening my own plan for wellness as we glean from the tools we already know and discover additional practices in our sessions together.

On my journey to wellness things that have helped me include music/singing, Feldenkrais, Tai Chi, dance, NVC, singing, art, WRAP, massage, recalling and journaling about what I’m like when I’m well, walking, women’s groups, hypnotherapy, psychiatric drugs, phone calls, “Power of Self-Esteem” course, meditation and Somatic Experiencing.
